Developer Challenges

A major challenge for application developers is the number of mobile devices – each with different capabilities, features and restrictions.

In fact, there are more than 300 different kinds of phones available today. So developers must deal with countless technical issues, such as unit processing power, different operating systems, memory availability, display differences and individual carrier limitations. And since mobile technology regularly changes, they must address problems related to application updates.

All of this makes the product management process timely and complicated. So while we believe that there is a great deal of opportunity in this market, we see some risks. For example, will developers be able to continue to create and manage applications with so many devices and platforms in the market? What if consumers begin to resist application price increases? How will developers (and companies) reach worldwide markets?

Of course, this is not a complete list. If you’d like to discuss your specific challenges with us, we’d love to hear from you.

From our perspective, we feel as though we represent the beginning of a new standard for the development and management of mobile applications. But the story is just beginning, and we invite you to follow the journey by subscribing to our blog (click here for the RSS feed).
